Sustainability and environmental factors are key issues for Jeurgens.
Raw materials are purchased from sustainable and reliable sources and, where possible, supplied in bulk silos or containers in order to reduce the amount of waste packaging material.
Jeurgens purchases UTZ certified chocolate and chocolate containing raw materials; the certificate is available on request.
If palm oil is processed in raw materials or products, only palm oil from a sustainable source is used (RSPO MB/SG).
We are always looking for continuous improvement in our production processes with consequent reductions in energy usage and waste.
In July 2014 we opened the doors of our new factory which was constructed in accordance with the principles of BREEAM NL Certification operated by the Dutch Green Building Council to determine the sustainability performance of new buildings.
The building will be assessed against these principles (e.g. insulation, CO2 emissions, lighting) by BREEAM NL and we are confident that it will achieve a rating of Very Good.
